The performance of titanium plate and titanium tube in industrial pure titanium can be divided into TA1, TA2 and TA3 three grades according to the different content of impurities. The interstitial impurity elements of this three kinds of industrial pure titanium are gradually increased, so the mechanical strength and hardness also gradually increased, but the plastic and toughness accordingly decreased.
Industrial pure titanium TA2 is commonly used in industry, because its corrosion resistance and comprehensive mechanical properties are modest. The requirements of wear resistance and strength are high, we can use TA3. Requiring good molding performance can use TA1.
TA1, TA2 and TA3 in the national standard correspond to Gr0, Gr1 and Gr2 in UNS.
When iron content Omega of TA1, TA2 is 0.095%, the oxygen content Omega is 0.08%, the hydrogen content Omega is 0.0009% and nitrogen content Omega is 0.0062%, it has very good low temperature toughness and high temperature strength, which can be used as low temperature structural materials 253 degrees below zero.
The chemical composition of TA2: iron (Fe)≤0.30, carbon (C)≤0.10, nitrogen (N)≤0.05, hydrogen (H)≤0.015, oxygen (O)≤0.25.
