Then titanium will be easily affected by and corroded in this medium. For example, titanium is easily to be corroded in hydrofluoric acid, concentrated or hot hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid, because these solutions will dissolve the oxide film on the surface of titanium products.

If add oxidant or some metal ions in these solutions, the oxide film on the surface of titanium products will be protected, thus increasing the stability of titanium products.
