The classification of titanium alloy
Titanium alloys can be classified according to strength, because the strength of the titanium alloy is different, it can be divided into many types. Titanium alloys can be divided into low strength titanium alloy, titanium alloy, ordinary medium strength titanium alloy and high strength titanium alloy according to different strength. The following is the specific classification of data:
1.Low strength titanium alloy: mainly used for corrosion resistant titanium alloy, other titanium alloy is used for structural parts, which is called the structure of titanium alloy.
2.Ordinary strength titanium alloy (about 500MPa), mainly includes the industrial pure titanium, TC1 and TA18, which is the most widely used titanium alloy. Due to its good plasticity and good welding performance, it can be used in the manufacture of various kinds of aviation plate parts and hydraulic pipes, as well as bicycles and other civilian products.
3.Medium strength titanium alloy (about 900MPa): typical titanium alloy is TC4, which is widely used in aerospace industry.
4.At room temperature, the tensile strength of high strength titanium alloy is above 1100 MPa, it is composed of near beta titanium alloy and metastable beta titanium alloy, it is commonly used to replace the high strength structural steel in aircraft structure, the typical titanium alloy is TB2, TB5 and TC11.
Titanium alloy is a kind of new important structural materials used in aerospace industry, the proportion, strength and operating temperature of titanium is between aluminum and steel, but titanium has high specific strength, excellent corrosion resistance to seawater and ultra low temperature function. The amount of titanium alloy used in aircraft engines usually accounts for 20% to 30% of the total weight of the layout, which is mainly used for the production of compressor components, such as casting titanium fan and compressor disk and blade, cast titanium compressor casing, intermediate casing, bearing shell and so on. Spacecraft mainly uses titanium alloy with high specific strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature to produce all kinds of pressure vessel, fuel tank, fasteners, instrument strap, architecture and rocket shell. Artificial earth satellite, lunar module, manned spacecraft and the space shuttle all use titanium alloy plate weldment.
