Classification and characteristics of titanium alloy according to the strength

According to the different strength, titanium alloys can be classified into low strength titanium alloy, regular strength titanium alloy, medium strength titanium alloy and high strength titanium alloy. The following is the specific data of classification:

1.Low strength titanium alloy: mainly used for corrosion resistant titanium alloy, other titanium alloy used for structural parts can be called the structure of titanium alloy (structure titanium alloy ).

Regular strength titanium alloy (~500MPa): mainly includes industrial pure titanium, 2. TI-2AL-1.5Mn (TCl) and Ti-3AL-2.5V (TA18), which is a widely used alloy. Due to the formation of the price performance and good welding performance, it is used for the manufacturing of a variety of aviation plate parts and hydraulic pipes, as well as bicycles and other civilian products.

3.Medium strength titanium alloy (~900MPa): the typical alloy is Ti-6Al-4V (TC4), which is widely used in aerospace industry.

4. The tensile strength of high strength titanium alloy is above 1100MPa at room temperature, which is composed of near beta titanium alloy and metastable beta titanium alloy. It is mainly used to replace high degree of structural steel  commonly used in the the aircraft structure, its typical alloys are Ti-13V-11Cr-3Al, Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn (TB5) and Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al.
